Increased inflation, construction costs and decompressed yields have moved up the prime annual rent on new production multifamily apartments in Sweden and in Stockholm to SEK 3,200 per sqm a year in Q4, compared to SEK 3,000 per sqm in Q3. The development is more noticeable in Stockholm than in the rest of Sweden. Rent negotiations on the older stock showed record high increases in 2023 according to Statistics Sweden, with an average of 4.1%, the highest increase since 1994. The average annual increase in 2022 was 1.7%.
